Privacy policy
Almost nothing. GLP-1 News has no accounts, no sign-in, no ads and no tracking.
The topics and medications you follow, your alert settings and the stories you save are stored on your phone. Deleting the app deletes them.
If you turn on alerts, the app sends us three things so we know which alerts to send: a push token (a random code your phone's operating system creates so an app can receive notifications), the list of topics, medications and outlets you follow with your alert choices, and your time zone, so quiet hours and the daily roundup arrive at the right hour. That is all. We do not receive your name, email, phone number, location, contacts or anything else about you, and the push token cannot be used to identify you.
We also keep a short log of which alerts were sent to which push token, so the same story is never sent to you twice and nobody gets more than six alerts a day.
This information is used only to send you the alerts you asked for. Alerts are delivered through Expo's push service, which passes them to Apple or Google to show on your phone. We never sell, rent or share it with anyone else, and we never use it for advertising.
Turn alerts off in the app's Following tab, or turn off notifications for GLP-1 News in your phone's settings. If your phone stops accepting our alerts, we stop sending and switch the token off automatically. To have the token and follows deleted from our records, email the address below.
GLP-1 News shows headlines and links to articles published by other news outlets. When you open a story you are visiting that outlet's website, and its own privacy policy applies there. GLP-1 News is news, not medical advice.
The app is not directed to children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone.
